Learn how to have a healthy conversation on the topic of race

I will be sharing my personal experiences of growing up in segregated neighborhoods, playing for the San Diego Chargers, and leading one of the most diverse and largest churches in the country. This has equipped me with unique insights and a God-given desire to teach others what God has taught me about His heart for racial unity.

Become more impactful in the community

One element of being a host site is partnering with a church that doesn’t look like you. After the event, you will have a chance to serve your community together (we will equip you with the information you need in order to do so).

Grow in attendance through becoming more diverse

By learning how to be more relevant to your entire community, you’ll also learn how to attract a more diverse segment of the population, which will support your church’s growth initiatives and demonstrate these principles in action.

Education

Children aged 3 - 5 attend nursery school or kindergarten in private schools because there is no government policy regarding this age group. Basic formal education starts at age six and lasts 12 years comprising 8 years in primary school and 4 years in secondary/high school. Primary school is free and those who exit at this level can join a vocational youth/village polytechnic program. Those who complete high school can proceed directly to the university. The country's literacy level for the whole population is 85%.

Cuisine

Kenyans generally have 3 meals a day- breakfast (kiamsha kinywa) which usually is tea or porridge with bread (chapati, mahamri) boiled potatoes or yams. Lunch is in the afternoon (chakula cha mchana). It usually consists of ugali with vegetables, sour milk, meat, fish or any other stew. This meal is eaten both for lunch and supper (chakula cha jioni). In between they have 10'oclock tea (chai ya saa nne) and 4'oclock p.m. tea (chai ya saa kumi).

Climate

Kenya has a warm and humid climate along its coastline on the Indian Ocean. The climate changes to wildlife-rich savannah grasslandss moving inland towards capital. Nairobi is the largest city in Kenya having a cool climate that gets colder approaching Mount Kenya which has three permanently snow-capped peaks.for himself and others entrusted to his care. When a man functions within the principles of biblical manhood, those around him benefit from his leadership and care. This study is designed to empower men to exercise the God-given dominion they were created for by giving them a Kingdom understanding, vision, and perspective on their identity and responsibilities, along with practical steps on how to become a man who rules his world well.

Although Kenya is the biggest and most advanced economy in east and central Africa, it is still a poor developing country. But almost half of Kenyans live in poverty. The difficulty of emotional pain and spiritual setbacks is of a much different sort than any physical challenge. Many of us men are not comfortable or well-equipped to grapple with them. The author Tony Evans gives us the kind of advice and inspiration we need to battle on through the most difficult circumstances. Drawing from the lives of Moses, David, Joseph, Jonah, and other biblical men who faced the worst, Evans pulls men out of their brokenness and declares, "No more!" No more falling short of being the man God desires you to be for any reason. Evans shows that the struggles faced yesterday and today are the very same tools God is using to make us better men for tomorrow.
